SL Massage Therapy – First blog!

SL Massage Therapy blog

Hello everyone,

So with the chaos of the weather cancelling my workload and literally being snowed in i thought it would be the perfect time to look at blogging and get started. The aim of my blog posts going forward is to provide you all with information on injuries, stretching, prevention, how to help yourself and just general information and updates or news about SL Massage Therapy.

The 'beast from the east' has caused me to cancel all massage appointments both yesterday and today. Tomorrow is not looking great either, but i will see how the roads look in the morning before i make a decision about that. I cannot believe the kind of weather we are seeing lately and how treacherous the roads have become, it really is not worth even attempting to drive anywhere if you don't necessarily need to.

A little about SL Massage Therapy...

So for those of you who don't know anything about us, SL Massage Therapy was set up in January 2016 after i completed a University degree in Sport and Exercise Development and gained a separate sports massage qualification. I currently work mobile in and around Sunderland with clients in Houghton, Durham, Chester-Le-Street, Newcastle, Gateshead and Washington also. So its always worth asking if i cover your area!

I also work from Sunderland Physiotherapy Clinic a few afternoons per week - which provides me with a clinic base for those of you who prefer a clinic setting for your treatments. Currently i am here:
Monday 2pm-8pm
Thursday 1pm-6pm
Every other Tuesday 1:30pm-5:30pm
Every other Saturday 9am-11:30am

I provide sports, swedish, and pregnancy massage both mobile and in clinic.

As well as providing treatments both mobile and in clinic, SL Massage Therapy is also the Sports Massage Therapist and pitch-side first aider for Houghton Rugby Union Football Club. Here, i treat the senior rugby players at their training session on a Thursday evening, before and after the match on a Saturday whilst being pitch-side and providing first aid when needed throughout the match. I am with HRUFC at both home and away games.

So that, is in a nutshell, what I do!
